Amanchu (early 3 episodes)

 

 

My though for the first 2 episode 

 

Slice of life anime will always have a special place in my mind, this type of anime always makes me think that everything is rainbow and sunshine in this world. And I am so glad Amanchu is here, the setting, the character, the humor, the... bobblehead face, everything is great!!! (and fun too)

The main target for this kind of anime is the sense of relaxation, if you get a "comfy" feeling every time you finish an episode or two, that mean the anime is success at presenting the slice of life aspect to you (at least that's how i think). As for Amanchu i like it, the general premise of the show is the daily life of 2 girls who just start their high school life, both came from different place, different lifestyle and their personality is complete opposite to each other, one is your typical shy and timid person and the other one is someone who can't stand firm for 10 seconds and very energetic, yet somehow the chemistry between these two is very funny, it's really one of the main attraction for this anime.

I enjoy it more than i hope

 

When it come show and criticism, I am bad. My standard for anime quality is pretty low, you could say that I am easily entertained, thus Amanchu made me laugh... a lot. To be honest after two episodes, I am not sure if i should call Amanchu is slice of life, it is one in a way but, it can be a comedy too considering Hikari  personality, she is pure gold.

The show really did well at showing how both girls has their own "canvas", Futaba the quiet one is very shy, when it focus on her everything seems quiet and low tone, then Hikari the energetic one, everything is moving around non stop, she's very active, loud and whatever she do, she do it in the most cheery way. Both telling their own story in their own way, when you see each of their focus, the slice of life is there and it's really strong, Futaba having trouble with her shyness while Hikari just going her own merry way, Futaba with her inner monologue and Hikari with her acting, but when both canvas collide... the slice of life is shifted and there goes the "sunshine and rainbow".

Everything just mixed so well, Futaba shyness help Hikari push her charm to lead the way while Hikari selfless to help Futaba push her shyness to shown even more in a very good way which lead to the comedy. The comedy just feel right, there is no rush in it, when the fun hit it hit at the right moment, the gleeful feeling you watch is end with a good laugh (or giggle) and moment later everything shift back to slice of life again ending the chemistry, this flow keep going for the two episode I've seen and I am not complaining, I like it this way because it offer me something more than just "cute girls doing cure thing", it has it moment while keeping it steady showing it to us viewer that this is still slice of life anime in it's pure form.

I am definitely going to watch the whole series, i like slice of life anime so i will continue, Hikari bobblehead mode amazed me and Futaba shyness add even more amusement to it. To be honest i was off a bit when the show keep showing Hikari mostly in bobblehead mode but, after a while it paid off thanks to Futaba.
