Crusader Quest.... we need more bread!!!

Another pixel RPG
Another day another finding, this time an RPG called Crusader Quest. If you ever play Faraway Kingdom then you will notice the art design resemblance, i don't know if it from the same person or they take the reference from there but, i like it.

Familiar interface but it always worked for this kind of game
The game has story for a start, it's the usual goodies versus baddies and you are the mercenary group who happen to be there and so on, nothing new for the story but it's there to make the game more enjoyable. The town is the center of everything, you have shop where you can buy new hero or the in app purchase stuff, hero to check your character and level them up, weapon to equip your hero with weapon and to upgrade it weapon, daily quest (on the right side) and some general tab on the left side. Goddess, bakery and skill lab is the interesting one.
Skill lab allow you to set your own "ultimate" skill
Each character has their own skill, and when you have high grade character (3 star and above) they have a skill and ultimate skill, you can set their ultimate skill by your own choice which give some freedom to manage your character to your liking albeit a little, and as usual there is requirement to open the other ultimate skill as you can see from the screen above.
why bread? i don't know
Bakery is another funny one. in this game, character level progress goes like this, you get 2 star hero for example, reach their max level which is 20 for 2 star, in order to promote them to become 3 star you need to train them first, and to train them you need to give them bread, once their training complete then you can promote them to become 3 star by using medal. So bread is your "money" to train them while "medal" is the money to promote them for higher star, which amazed me because that mean this game has 5 currency, food (your energy), money (to upgrade weapon and stuff), diamond (to buy new random "elite" hero), medal (to buy random "regular" hero and to promote your char), thankfully all of them are quite easy to get, you can get medal from daily quest, arena and selling your hero, diamond from daily login reward and event, and bread from bakery which is free but you need to wait to do so, and finally regular money from battle.
Goddess room, nice and comfy
Goddess room is where you choose your goddess to help you in battle, they act as support character that give you some neat effect in battle, that's about it. I explain the detail together with the combat stuff below.
Battle is pretty fast paced
Here is the center attention of the game. I like how they play out the battle in this game, at first i was afraid that i need to micro manage everything, thankfully i don't need to because aside from the skill activation, everything is done automatically, your hero will move and attack the enemy by itself, all you need to do is to active the skill from the bar below. The skill execution itself is pretty neat, you use the skill by tapping the skill bar below, you can tap whichever you want but, you can make the skill stronger by putting the same skill next to each other until it reach the strongest which is 3 block, so this is where the "strategic" play come, the block will come every second or so until your bar full (from left to right), you just need to tap the skill you want to use and at the same time arrange which skill you want to make it into 3 block (or 2), a 3 block skill is far greater than 1 or 2 block skill in term of damage and effect and it's also fill the hero energy bar (the bar below their HP), using 1 or 2 block skill also fill the bar but not as much as 3 block skill, once full the ultimate skill block will appear (the circle one).
Quest is abundant, just take it slowly
for the game longevity, no need worry about it. I'm still at forest area and at 1-10, if you see the scroll bar there, I'm still at the middle so there is more or less about 20 chapter for forest area, and let say if all other tab also has 20 chapter, that mean there is total 80 chapter to play around, not counting the daily quest and the difficulty setting which net you different reward for different difficulty.

Is it good? sure it is, i recommend this for everyone, nice art style, good battle system, energy cost and promoting your hero is pretty fair compare to other RPG on tablet, and its free. You might end up bored since it will end up just like other game on tablet, you just repeat the same thing over and over but, its enjoyable enough to fill some time in case you have nothing to play on your tablet/phone.
